Lodging and Food
NARPI 2011 Summer Training will be held at two locations: one in Seoul (Week 1), and one near the DMZ (Week 2).
Week 1 (August 16-20): The first week, we will stay and take courses at Hi Seoul Youth Hostel in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. Participants will stay in triple rooms. There’s a laundry room and a kitchen available. Breakfast (bread, fruit and drinks) will be prepared and served by each course group, in their own classroom. Lunch and dinner will be served at the Hi Seoul Youth Hostel.

Week 2 (August 24-28): The second week, we will be staying at the Korea DMZ Peace Life Valley, a nonprofit foundation located two and a half hours from Seoul, near the DMZ. Participants will stay in group rooms, for 7-8 people. Participants will again help to prepare and serve a simple breakfast every day, and lunch and dinner will be served.

Classes
There will be a maximum of 20 students per course. Please mark your second and third choice for a course on your application, just in case your first choice is not available. Course handouts will be provided by the co-facilitators. Courses will start at 8 a.m. and end at 5 p.m., with breaks for lunch and coffee.
Registration
Registration will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, August 15 (Week 1) and August 23 (Week 2). Please register, if possible, before the first day of your course.
Social Events
On the night of the last classes of Week 1 and Week 2, NARPI will have a “Northeast Asia Cultural Night.” Each class group will be in charge of a 30-minute presentation for this event. Please bring anything representative of your culture, community or family that you could share during that presentation, such as: clothing, musical instruments, poetry, songs, posters, banners, or videos.
We will also have an open NARPI calendar board. Participants can work together to plan other events for the evenings (for example, yoga, singing, movies).
Since the first week of NARPI is held in Seoul, there will be one night designated as “shopping night,” when participants will have a chance to buy souvenirs for friends and family.
Please note: The deadline for receipt of applications and scholarship applications is June 15, 2011. All applications should be submitted by email to: apply@narpi.net. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by June 15. If you have any questions, please contact us at:
