PLAN FOR NARPI
In
order for NARPI to become a stable peacebuilding institute in the
region, it needs a sufficient planning period. Thus, we would like to
suggest the following three-year plan:
1st year (2009) - Network building stage
Building a network in Northeast Asian countries (mainly China, Japan and Korea) for NARPI establishment
Finding
key individuals, organizations, schools, churches, media and donors who
have similar vision with NARPI (like World Friendship Center from
Hiroshima, Japan)
Making brochures and information packages including a homepage for sharing the vision
Researching and learning from other regional peacebuilding institutes’ experiences
2nd year (2010) – The foundation-laying stage
Forming the NARPI steering committee and having regular planning meetings
Selecting (or hiring) a NARPI coordinator to play a ‘control tower’ role
Arranging
details for NARPI operation such as facilities (country), schedule,
courses, facilitators, guest speakers, budget, etc.
Advertising NARPI through brochures, homepage, visits, etc, and beginning the application process by sending invitations
3rd year (2011) – Operation stage
Finalize details with a hosting local partner(s) for facility usage, transportation, and other matters.
Selecting the first NARPI applicants and starting visa process
NARPI
administration work including materials and resource books,
transportation arrangement, food and lodging, certificates,
communication, etc.
Evaluation and follow-up work.
Planning next steps.
